Pasadena City College's Daryl Taylor, an associate professor in the Kinesiology, Health & Athletics Division, recently helped Team USA win a gold medal in fencing at the 2018 Veteran World Championships held in October at Livorno, Italy.

Taylor, who will turn 66 in December, was a part of the U.S. men's epee team that captured the team gold at the championships for competitors 50 years-and-older.

Taylor is the No. 2-ranked player in the nation for the 60-69 epee division. He captured the bronze individual medal in the U.S. Championships at St. Louis, Mo. back in July to qualify for the World event.

Taylor, a Los Angeles native, has taught fencing classes at PCC and is the club advisor for the college's fencing club.
