The Pasadena City College baseball team scored the most runs by a Lancers team this century and most ever under head coach Pat McGee in a 27-4 victory at Compton on Monday. The previous McGee-coached high was 24 last year in a win over Chaffey.

PCC also completed a series sweep of Compton, making up a postponed game from March 14. The Lancers (15-7) overall have won five straight and moved into a tie with Long Beach City for third place in the South Coast Conference, both at 8-4.

Pasadena scored seven runs in the first, four on a grand slam over the right field fence by designated hitter Brandon Gill, then posted another 7-spot in the fourth, including a 2-run homer to left center by rightfielder Devon Eskridge.

Gill knocked in six RBI adding a double, Eskridge batted 3-for-6 with three ribbies, second baseman Omar Cisneros was 3-for-5 with four runs scored, and first baseman Adrian Roman reached base six times on two hits, four walks while crossing the plate four times.

Additionally, shortstop Bryan Richman (double), catcher Joaquin Salcedo (triple, two walks, four runs), and third baseman Devin Munoz (double) collected two hits a piece. Centerfielder Tyler Garcia added three RBI (double) and reserve outfielder Carlos Hernandez ripped a 3-run triple in the ninth.

Logan Parker pitched five innings, allowing only three hits, two runs and scattering six walks for his first collegiate victory while Aiden Nunez pitched 2.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

The Lancers have slugged 19 home runs in 22 games and are only five behind the high of 24 launched in the entire 2023 season of 42 games.
