[Editor's Note, since this release, East Los Angeles switched with Chaffey College and now Chaffey takes its spot on PCC's schedule]

The Pasadena City College football team has been realigned by the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) to play in the American Pacific League beginning later this year.

The Lancers played the last few seasons in the American Metro League. PCC's new conference includes Allan Hancock, Los Angeles Harbor, Pierce, Santa Barbara City, and Santa Monica Colleges. PCC's non-league opponents for 2018 are the Mountain League's College of the Desert and San Bernardino Valley, Glendale from the Metro, Chaffey, a new team in the Metro, and one team from the upper National Division in Saddleback.

PCC opens the '18 season by hosting Desert on Saturday, September 1. The Lancers first Pacific League game is October 13 when they host Hancock. The Lancers will have their bye (or off) week on Saturday, Oct. 6, the midway point of the season. 

Glendale, Hancock and SBVC all were teams that PCC faced in 2017, going 1-2 against those opponents. PCC faces LA Harbor for the first time since 2015, and will face both Saddleback and Desert for the first time since 2011. It's been 12 years since the Lancers last faced Santa Barbara, 21 years since it last met Chaffey, and the team's matchup v. Santa Monica (home game on October 27) will be their first gridiron meeting in 35 years. In 1983, the Lancers were coached by the late Larry Reisbig and had in their secondary future NFL defensive back and PCC Sports Hall of Famer Eric Thomas.

No game times have been attached to contests at this time but Lancers home games at Robinson Stadium have traditionally had 6 p.m. kickoffs.
