After helping the Pasadena City College football team open the 2018 season with a 42-38 victory over College of the Desert, sophomore transfer running back Sultaan Sullivan was named SCFA American Division Offensive Player of the Week.
Sullivan, who was a prep sensation at Serrano High and transferred from Victor Valley College, averaged better than 10 yards-a-carry. He scored the game-winning touchdown with 2:23 left on a 27-yard scoring bolt. Sullivan totaled 150 yards in just 14 carries and had two touchdowns. He added two receptions for 22 yards and his 172 all-purpose yards led the Lancers.
PCC plays at Glendale College this Saturday, Sept. 8 in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Sartoris Field. Glendale is coming off a 23-9 season-opening loss at Antelope Valley College. The Lancers are a dominating 35-14-1 in their history against Glendale, the most wins against any opponent by PCC. Pasadena won last year's meeting, 38-7, at Robinson Stadium. In 2016, the Vaqueros beat the Lancers, 25-3, in the last encounter at Glendale.
