Pasadena City College footballl team freshman wide receiver David Telles was named SCFA American Division Special Teams/All-Purpose Player of the Week thanks to 190 yards in rushing, receiving, punt and kick returns during the Lancers week #2 win over Glendale. It is PCC's second selection in two weeks with Sultaan Sullivan's Offensive POW award for week #1.

Telles, a Franklin High product, made six catches for 96 yards (one touchdown), ran for a 12-yard TD, returned five punts for 60 yards and added a 22-yard kick return. He made a 37-yard reception that also helped set up a third score.

Off to their best start since 2010, the Lancers visit Saddleback (0-2) in a SCFA non-league game to be played at Mission Viejo High School. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. The Gauchos, a member of the upper National Division, are facing PCC for the first time in seven seasons. Saddleback owns an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series between the two colleges.

Despite being winless, Saddleback's reputation as a top program is evident with its No. 10 ranking in the CCCFCA SoCal Top 15. State No. 5-rated Ventura handed the Gauchos a 34-19 loss last week.

Coach Steven Mojarro's Lancers are No. 4 in the state in total offense at 493 yards per game compared to Saddleback's woeful No. 58 spot (230.5). Neither school is high in total defense with PCC at No. 40 and the Gauchos settling in at No. 56 (428.5 yards allowed per contest).
