The Pasadena City College men's basketball team is trying to finish the 2017-18 season with a flourish. The Lancers won their second straight South Coast Conference North Division game, and defeated host Mt. San Antonio for the second time this season, 75-59, Friday night.

The Lancers (10-15 overall, 2-6 in SCC play) again utilized freshman guard Justin Brown, who helped key a 9-0 scoring spurt after Mt. SAC was leading 50-48 with seven minutes left. Brown hit a layup, nailed a 3-pointer, and made two free throws as PCC jumped ahead 57-50. The Lancers made 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Brown led the team in scoring with 20 points (7-for-8 at the line, 3-for-6 on treys). Josiah Woods added 10 points while center Augustine Tadale contributed nine points, 12 rebounds, and blocked two shots. Malik Black also tallied nine points. Jordan Simpson aided the attack on eight points and seven rebounds while Kyle Mitchell had seven points and seven rebounds. Overall, PCC shot 26-of-35 from the line (74.3 percent) and 7-for-15 (47 percent) from beyond the 3-point circle.

Pasadena hosts Chaffey College on Wednesday, Feb. 14 in a 7 p.m. game at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.
