Phone: 661-878-1000
Year: 8th Season

In his ninth season with the Pasadena City College men's basketball program, Hosie Ward was named interim head coach for the 2021-2022 season in October.

He brings 20 years of community college basketball coaching experience to his new role this season.

Ward coached four years at College of the Canyons (2008-2011) prior to an eight-year tenure at Santa Monica College. With the SMC Corsairs, Ward helped the team to reach the State Elite Eight Tournament, including regional playoff road victories over three State Top 15 teams.

Ward left PCC to be head coach of the Copper Mountain College women's basketball team, but stayed there for only the '17-18 season.

Ward began his coaching career as an assistant varsity boys coach at Littlerock High, contributing to that school’s first 20-win season in school history. Ward then became head coach for two seasons at Bethel Christian School (Lancaster).

After originally attending Grambling State University (Louisiana) as an honor roll student, Ward had to leave his studies to help support his family when his mother became ill. He later fulfilled a promise to his mother (since passed away) to complete his studies and earn a degree. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in kinesiology at Cal State Los Angeles.

A resident of Lake Los Angeles in Antelope Valley, Ward lives with his wife Beryl. The couple has five children and nine grandchildren.
