The Pasadena City College men's soccer team showed some of the quick-strike offensive prowess that head coach Gerry Mora said his Lancers would show this season in a sterling, 4-0 victory at Moorpark on Friday. Both Favian Esparza and Carlos Navarro scored a goal and an assist as PCC improved to 1-1.

It was fast and furious for PCC in the first half. In the 15th minute, Emmanuel Becerra set a short pass to Jason Bautista who delivered it to Esparza for a set piece goal. In the 24th minute, Navarro sent a perfect cross to Ernesto Angulo, who scored his second goal in as many games for a 2-0 PCC advantage. Two minutes later, Mario Urbina stole a pass deep in Moorpark's zone and fed Navarro for a close range score. PCC scored three goals in a span of 11 minutes.

Three minutes into the second half, the Lancers completed the game's scoring as Esparza sent a long ball to a speedy Asher Smith, who fired a shot in the corner of the net.

Goalies Bryan Espinoza (three saves, first half) and David Quinonez (one save, second half) combined for the shutout.

PCC makes its home debut on its new Robinson Stadium artificial turf surface on Tuesday, Sept. 3 in a 2 p.m. kickoff against Long Beach City College.
