The Pasadena City College men's swim team placed second out of nine teams with 744 overall points at the Clovis Invitational held in Northern California Feb. 21-22. Sophomore Michael Humphrey put on a clinic by winning four different races.

While Cuesta College won the men's team title, the Lancers had some strong swims throughout the 2-day event, especially by Humphrey. The letterman first won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:04.02, then hit the wall in front of everyone in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.95). He also captured first in the 200 butterfly (2:00.77) and closed out the giant performance with a win in the grueling 400 IM in 4:23.47. Humphrey almost had five wins, but was a second place by just .02 of a second in the 100 butterfly (53.82).

Another top Lancer was sophomore Harrison Tin, who scored three event wins including the 50-yard breaststroke (28.18), the 100 breaststroke (1:01.76) and 100 IM (56.92). Tin was second to Humphrey in the 200 breaststroke. Brandon Tu won the 200 backstroke (2:08.30) and took second in the 100 backstroke (59.52).

Nicholas Chan was third in the 200 IM and fourth in both the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke while Mathew Bilaver placed third in the 50 freestyle. Grayson Wade placed fourth in the 100 backstroke and Jiri Kral was fifth in the 200 IM.

At the South Coast Conference Pentathlon held Feb. 14 at Mt. San Antonio College, Tin won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.25), Bilaver placed second in the 100 freestyle (49.78), and Humphrey second in the 200 IM (2:04.89).

PCC returns to the pool to begin the SCC dual season on Friday, Feb. 28 in a double dual meet v. Mt. San Antonio and at El Camino.
