Pasadena City College men's swimmer Sam Regan swam 17:23.30 in the 1,650-yard freestyle to allow the Lancers to score as a team at the CCCAA State Championships held at East Los Angeles College on Saturday.

Regan swam slightly faster at the South Coast Conference Championships (by just .57 of a second), a remarkable sign of consistency as both swims occurred at the same indoor pool. Regan took 18th overall in the 500 freestyle earlier in the meet.

PCC's five scoring points gave the one-man team 34th place in the state standings.
