Men's Track Urbina To Run In SoCal 1,500 Finals

Eduardo Urbina is the last chance for the Pasadena City College men's track and field season as he is the lone Lancers qualifier for the Southern California Championships on Saturday, May 13 at Cerritos College. Urbina (Duarte High) raced a time of 4:04.81 in the 1,500 meters during the SoCal Prelims meet on May 6 to place him in the final 12 for the finals race.

At the South Coast Conference Championships held April 28 at El Camino College, PCC finished in fifth place out of six teams with 20 points. Marcelo Ramirez took fourth place in the 1,500 in 4:09.71 while Urbina had a disappointing 4:20.54 for 11th. Christian Alcala finished sixth in the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:19.13. Eric Bravo was seventh in the 10,000 meters in 34:44.76. Brennan Doyle placed eighth in the 400-meter dash in 51.58. Ethan Lam recorded 12.39 meter leap to take eighth in the triple jump. 

The team scored points in the 4x100 relay (44.91) and 4x400 relay (3:27.80) but finished last or fifth in both races. 

The Lancers men's track and field program is under the direction of head coach Innocent Egbunike, who is completing his first year at PCC.
