Doyle's Fast 400 Part of Men's Track Showing At Bakersfield Meet

Sophomore sprinter Brennan Doyle took second place and teammate Martin Swan finished third overall in the 400 meters to highlight the Pasadena City College men's track and field team's top performance Feb. 9 at the Bakersfield Battle of the Regions meet.

Doyle cracked the 50-second mark at 49.61 behind winner Leo Lambert of Canyons (48.51). Swan was right behind them at 50.42. In a separate heat No. 2, Justin Smith of PCC won that race but his overall time of 51.47 was 10th best overall. Uri Mafate was 11th overall in the 100 sprint at 11.54.

Everett Clayton-Skinner won his heats in each of the 100 and 200 meters. Clayton-Skinner placed 18th in the 100 at 11.91 and 19th in the 200 in 24.97. In the 800, William Su took sixth (2:05.33) and Dylan Che was seventh (2:06.48). Su took 15th in the 3,000 meters in a 10:03.55 clip. 

Miles Johnson finished seventh in the high jump at 5-feet-8 while Everett-Skinner was ninth in the long jump in 19-2 feet. Gabriel Ramos was 13th in the shot put with a throw of 34-7.

Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers are next scheduled to participate in the Cerritos Opener Meet Feb. 23-24.
