Pasadena City College men's track and field athlete Jared Whitt is tied for first place in the state in the triple jump after his 48 feet, 6.25 inch leap at the El Camino Invitational on March 22. Whitt held the top TJ mark until San Joaquin Delta's Juwan Seales tied him at a Stockton meet on April 5.

Whitt won the TJ event on April 5 at the San Diego Mesa-hosted Arnie Robinson Invitational, but his winning leap was shorter than his second-place ECC mark at 47-7.75. However, Whitt had the best collegiate mark as an unattached jumper won the event at Mesa.

Also at ECC meet, Miles Johnson had his best high jump mark of the season to move into a tie for 14th in the state with a 6-2.75 jump (finished tied for second place at the meet). Whitt won his heat in the 100 meters at 11.39 seconds. Trevor Abe put up a season-best and 35th in the state time in the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:44.63.

At the AR Invite, Smith raced his best time in the 100 at 10.99 (won his heat, sixth overall) and that puts him 44th in the state. Whitt won his heat at 11.50 while Thor Abiva also won a secondary heat (12.18). Josh Tan placed fifth in the shot put and his best throw of 41-3.25 places him 43rd in the state. Smith took eighth in the 200 (22.42, not a Top 50 time). Quinten May scored eighth in the 400 (51.15). Dylan Che placed 13th in the 1,500 (4:23.51). Giovanni Guajardo was ninth in the 5,000 meters (16:47.69) and Jose Campos placed 10th (16:55.93).

The 4x100 relay squad of Uri Mafate, May, Whitt and Smith took second place at 43.36, but the Lancers best time in that event was a 43.20 performed at the Bakersfield Relays (26th in state). The 4x400 relay of May, Mafate, Whitt and Che also scored second at 3:30.96, a new season best and places PCC 29th in state.
