The Pasadena City College men's cross country team saw some improvement in times for several runners, allowing the Lancers to place eighth overall among 14 scoring teams participating at the Mt. SAC Invitational held on October 12.

For the fifth time in five meets, sophomore Dylan Che was PCC's fastest harrier with a time of 22 minutes, 43 seconds over the 4-mile course as he took 22nd overall out of 134 racers. Che improved 56 places and 54 seconds from his freshman time in last year's Mt. SAC event.

The event had a South Coast Conference feel with host Mt. SAC winning the team title and El Camino coming in a close second place. The top three finishers were Mt. SAC's Salvador Capetillo (20:33), El Camino's Carson Bix (21:13) and Ethan Comeaux (21:17). Other SCC teams attending were Chaffey in fifth and East Los Angeles in 12th. 

For PCC, sophomore William Su had one of his best runs of the year at 23:28, good enough for 42nd place. Freshmen Giovanni Guajardo (54th, 23:56) and Jose Campos (66th, 24:35) also were in the top half of the field with solid marks. The last scoring Lancer was sophomore Trevor Abe in 79th (25:09). Also racing for the Lancers were freshman Samuel Silva (110th, 27:43), sophomore Jacob Reyes (114th, 27:53), and sophomore Izaq Davolt (129th, 33:54).

This was the final tunep for Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers, who will take part in the South Coast Conference Championships on Friday, Oct. 26 at Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos. The men's race begins at 11 a.m.
