The Pasadena City College men's cross country team improved three team places from a year ago as the Lancers took 17th out of 28 scoring schools at the SoCal Preview Meet held Sept. 13 at Mission Bay in San Diego.

The Lancers were again led by freshman Asa Barton, who finished 53rd overall out of 205 racers with a time of 22:51.9 over the 4-mile course. Barton has been the team's high finisher in all three of the Lancers meets thus far.

San Diego Mesa won the team title, led by overall individual first place winner Bobby Brana (21:24.8). The South Coast Conference had a very strong showing behind Mt. San Antonio (second place), El Camino (fifth), Cerritos (10th), LA Harbor (12th), and Long Beach City (13th). East Los Angeles was the only conference school to not finish in the top 20 as the Huskies were 27th.
