In sweeping a doubleheader at East Los Angeles College Friday, the Pasadena City College women's badminton team accomplished its 15th South Coast Conference title in the program's history, 10th in the last 11 years, and fifth straight under head coach Jen Ho.

The Lancers (8-2 overall) had another perfect run in conference play at 8-0 and extended their SCC winning streak to 47 in a row since the start of the 2015 season when Ho began directing the program.

PCC recorded identical 11-2 wins in both matches. In the opener, No. 1 player and sophomore Xiaoming Yao recorded singles sweeps of 21-9, 21-9 over ELAC's No. 1 Gabby Naranjo and No. 2 Amber Huang, 21-2, 21-6. PCC #2 Sophia Nguyen added a 21-7, 21-6 win over Naranjo and a 21-7, 21-6 sweep over Huang. Also winning one match each were #3 Nicole Ching, #4 Rose Huynh, and #6 Emilee Kintanar. In doubles, the pair of Jessica Lee and Ching beat Huang and Jasmine De La Cruz, 21-8, 21-15 while Huyen Diep and Nguyen downed Naranjo and Jessica Zhou, 21-11, 21-7.
