Women's Swim Opens SCC Schedule

Carmen Ung scored three event victories to highlight the Pasadena City College women's swim team performance as the Lancers lost their South Coast Conference-opening double dual, meet v. Chaffey, 141-96, and host Long Beach City College, 145-83.

Ung collected victories in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.91) and 200 breaststroke (2:40.63) while taking first also in the 50 freestyle (25.45 seconds). Ung broke her own school record in the 100 breaststroke by .49 of a second.

Also winning an event for the Lancers was Yvette Rosales, who captured the 1,000 freestyle in 13:06.78. Rosales also placed second in both the 100 butterfly (1:13.35) and 200 butterfly (2:42.60). Fernanda Alvarez was second in the 500 freestyle (6:35.63). 

The 400 freestyle relay of Ung, Rosales, Anna Herrin, and Carolina Lopez tallied a second place in 4:29.77.

On Friday, March 15, Coach Terry Stoddard's Lancers return to the pool to face El Camino College and host Rio Hondo College in a 12:30 p.m. double dual meet.
