Hale's 1,650 Freestyle Win Highlights Women's Swim At Pasadena/ELAC Invitational

The Pasadena City College women's swim team hasn't had the numbers it had hoped this season. On April 8-9 at the Pasadena/East Los Angeles Invitational held at ELAC, the Lancers were finally able to produce a relay squad to go with several solid swims overall.

The group of Nickey Hale, Lilian Tahmasian, Berte Montes and Lilah Caputi scored sixth place in the 400 medley relay (4:56.27) and 11th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:57.11).

Hale won the 1,650-yard freestyle event in a season-best mark of 19:58.57. Hale took fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:43.95), placed seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:29.25), and 10th in the 100 butterfly (1:06.63).

Tahmasian scored 11th in the 500 freestyle (6:06.37) and 14th in the 100 breaststroke (1:23.95).

Caputi was 19th in the 50 freestyle (28.23) and won her heat in the 200 freestyle (23rd overall) in 2:21.13.

PCC placed eighth out of 10 teams with 107 points. Santa Barbara City College won the team title.

The Lancers will participate at the South Coast Conference Championships April 21-23 at East LA's Swim Stadium. ELAC is also the host of the CCCAA State Championships May 5-7.
