Lily Baer's throw of 102 feet, 1 inch in the javelin at the Cal State Los Angeles Twilight Open on Wednesday has placed the Pasadena City College women's track and field thrower into contention for a possible title in the South Coast Conference.

Baer placed fourth in the event and is now #18 in the state. More importantly, she is now #2 among SCC throwers. The javelin was held at Cerritos College as part of the CSLA meet.

The SCC Prelims/Championships take place at El Camino College on Tuesday, April 19 and Saturday, April 23.

At the Cal State meet, Liz Ghazanchian placed seventh in the discus (112-4). Her season best 121-2 at the Arnie Robinson Invitational on April 1 spots her #13 in the state in that event.

Bay Hollinger matched her season-best and placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 4-11. That mark was the best of any California Community College jumper at the meet. She is tied for 17th in the state.
