The first sophomore class for Pasadena City College women's volleyball head coach Mike Terrill officially announced its transfers to 4-year universities in a signing ceremony Monday at PCC's Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Rayleen Rivera, an All-South Coast Conference First Team right side hitter, signed with NAIA Williams Woods University (Missouri) while two-year setter Hannah Clarke inked a scholarship with NAIA Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., located in Napa Valley. All-SCC First Team libero Michelle Boyd also will transfer as a walk-on at Cal State Los Angeles.

Rivera, from Bishop Amat High, set a PCC record for kills in a match with 30. She averaged 3.52 kills a set, and 2.44 digs as a sophomore. From Verdugo Hills High, Boyd led the SCC North Division in digs with 275 (3.16) and served 42 aces in her second PCC season. Clarke, who attended Glendora High, totaled 651 assists over two seasons (4.65 average).

"The success of our program is built upon players developing in the classroom, on the court, as people and seeing them transfer to 4 year schools," Terrill said.  "Hannah, Michelle, and Raye have earned these opportunities because of their hard work and volleyball talent but more importantly, they are young women with great character.  We're so happy to see them continue their playing careers. We also want to recognize sophomore Monica Hernandez who will be continuing in the Nursing program at PCC.  It's a proud day for the PCC volleyball program!"
