The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team cashed in for winning the South Coast Conference North Division title with the selection of sophomore setter Emily Leung as SCC North MVP and Lancers head coach Mike Terrill chosen SCC North Coach of the Year.

In all, the Lancers had its entire starting rotation named All-Conference with First Team choices including sophomores in middle blocker Lania Potter, and outside hitters Paige Clingaman, Vanessa Lopez along with freshman middle blocker Rachel Johnson. Making it to the All-SCC North Second Team is redshirt freshman opposite Kendall Schmedes and sophomore libero Kelsey Sarreal

Leung is a 2-time, All-SCC First Team selection and the first Lancer to be named MVP since libero Jennifer Estrada was Co-Player of the Year in 2012. In 2009, outside hitter Patti Blasco was named the first PCC MVP in conference history (Lancers entered the South Coast in 1987). A product of Maranatha High, Leung is among the state's top 10 setters as her 9.24 assists average in the regular season led all players in the SCC in either of its divisions.

Potter, Clingaman and Lopez are 2-time All-SCC choices (all were Second Team as freshmen). Potter's .296 attack percentage led the Lancers as the Muir High graduate averaged 1.7 kills and 0.73 blocks per set. Lopez was one of the region's top all-around players, leading the division at 3.01 kills and adding a 2.9 digs average (plus 23 service aces) from the back row. Johnson emerged as the team's top newcomer as she averaged 1.85 kills and 0.6 blocks. Schmedes is another multi-faceted talent with 2.3 kills, 2.5 digs, 0.5 blocks averages and 29 aces. Sarreal grabbed the coveted libero jersey early in the season and ran with it during conference play. The Arcadia High alum averaged 3.5 digs per set.

In just his second season as head coach of the program, Terrill directed the Lancers to a perfect 8-0 trip to win the SCC North title. He is the third PCC head coach to win the award after Lori Jepsen and Tammy Silva.

PCC is 18-9 overall after sweeping a SoCal Regional Playoff Play-Round match over Ventura on Saturday. The No. 15-seeded Lancers travel to face No. 2 MiraCosta in a Round 1 match on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
