Lancers Volleyball 2-1 In SCC After 2nd Straight Road Sweep

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team recorded its second consecutive road sweep in South Coast Conference North Division play on Wednesday night. The Lancers defeated Rio Hondo College, 25-22, 25-19, 25-13 as they improved to 2-1 in conference matches.

PCC (7-9) overall trail SCC leader East Los Angeles College (2-0) by a half-game. The Lancers host Chaffey College on Friday, Oct. 12 in a 6 p.m. conference match at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. 

Leslie Rivera scored seven kills and led the defense with 19 digs while Pamela Galvan added 13 digs and served three aces. Abby Martin added seven kills (only 18 attempts) while Danielle Johnson scored six kills and a pair of blocks. Camille Ferguson chipped in a team-high eight kills and had nine digs. Tehya Topalian dished out 22 assists with two aces and Nikki Hernandez contributed nine digs and eight set assists. Audrey Altamirano had three kills and three blocks.

This is the first time all season that PCC has won two matches in a row.
