Lancers freshman runner Carissa Guardado placed 68th at the Southern California Championships held at Fountain Valley's Mile Square Park. Guardado, who endured through an injury later in the year, missed by a few places of qualiying for the CCCAA State Championships thus ending the Pasadena City College women's cross country season.

Guardado ran the 5-kilometer course in a time of 21:29.5. She was the only PCC racer to qualify for the regional meet based on results from the South Coast Conference Championships.

In the six meets she participated in, Guardado was the top Pasadena runner in all of them. She ran 15th at the SCC meet.
