In his 33rd year, Robert Lewis continues his work as Pasadena City College's sports information specialist.  

A winner of numerous awards for his media guides by the Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO), Lewis helped update the history of the PCC sports teams including creating the school's athletic website in 2004. As the Athletics webmaster/editor, he regularly updates the records, achievements, biographies, statistics and news for the Lancers' 16 intercollegiate sports teams. 

In 2016, Lewis helped launch PCC's Presto website at pcclancers.com. He constantly keeps up-to-date news on Athletics social media site at @PCCAthletics, a Twitter/X site that now has more than 2,500 Lancers followers. He added Instagram to his many duties.

Lewis' work extends to serving as chairman of the PCC Sports Hall of Fame as a liason to the PCC Foundation. Besides being the event planner, selection committee coordinator, nominee researcher, and general historian for athletics, he is the master of ceremonies for HOF events, the most recent that took place on May 13, 2023 and was attended by nearly 800 people.

He was honored as one of three finalists nominated for the 2018 Risser Award for Outstanding Support for Education. In 2023, his writing work was recognized as a finalist for Best Online Sports Story by the LA Press Club. 

In 2008, Lewis received the prestigious Brass Top Award for career achievement by the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA). He is one of the founding fathers of the SIA and is a long-time executive board member, regularly participating in the association's meetings and affairs. He has regularly worked at the state level as a SID at various CCCAA championship events, including women's and men's volleyball, swimming and diving, women's badminton, water polo, basketball and soccer. 

Before coming to PCC, he served as SID at West Los Angeles College (1989-1991) and was a prep/community college sportswriter at the Daily Breeze, Evening Outlook, and Los Angeles Times. Lewis also worked as a part-time sports producer at KCOP-Channel 13 News and served as statistician for NHL Radio on Westwood One. 

Lewis earned a bachelor's degree in journalism at California State University-Northridge in 1989. Lewis previously attended Santa Monica College and was a 2-year letterman as a relief pitcher on the Corsairs baseball team in 1985-86. He also served as sports editor of the award-winning student newspaper--The Corsair.

With his wife Vicky and daughter Lilly, an All-Pacific League First Team softball player and graduate of Burroughs High, the Lewis family are residents of Burbank. Lewis is also a father to oldest daughter, Olivia, and has three grandsons--Matthew, Benjamin, and Keith.
