Men's Hoops Beats Local Freeway Rival Glendale In OT, 95-90

Chris Blount made a jumper with 51 seconds left in overtime to give the Pasadena City College men's basketball team the final lead in a 95-90, non-conference victory at Glendale College Wednesday night. PCC improved its record to 5-3.

Blount, who scored 16 points, added two free throws with seven seconds left to ice the win in a game that featured 18 lead changes. It is the second time PCC won in overtime this season.

Glendale (1-4) trailed 77-68 and battled back to send the game into overtime at 79-79 as Isaac Etter drilled a 3-pointer with a little more than a minute left in regulation. 

PCC had a big performance from Chris Odionu, who scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and passed out five assists. Josiah Woods and Khristion Courseault each scored 14 points and combined for seven treys. PCC shot 9-for-20 (45 percent) from beyond the 3-point circle. Ivan Egbunike tacked on 11 points off the bench while Deandro Worrell added 11 rebounds and six points.

For the Vaqueros, Andre Banton scored 36 points, making 16-for-19 from the free throw line. 

Courseault made 3-point halfcourt shot at the first half buzzer that gave PCC a 39-37 lead. 

The Lancers take an extended break before returning to action on Dec. 14-16 at the College of the Sequoias Wyndham Classic. PCC faces the host Giants in the opener on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.
