Men Soccer's Becerra Commits To Kansas Wesleyan

Pasadena City College men's soccer team sophomore Emmanuel Becerra is moving to the next level in signing a scholarship offer with NAIA Kansas Wesleyan University. The midfielder is the fifth Lancer to choose KWU as their next destination in the past four years.

Becerra scored five goals and one assist for the 2019 Lancers, leading PCC in game-winning goals with three. The 5-foot-11 letterman played in all but one of the team's 22 matches as the Lancers finished an improved 10-8-4 and closed the year on a 5-game unbeaten streak (3-0-2).

Becerra came to PCC from Sotomayor High in Los Angeles. He joins a Coyotes program that plays in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). Ironically, Becerra enters the KWU program as senior and former Lancer Yader Rodriguez (2017 PCC graduate) finished his college career in '19 as a senior with All-KCAC honorable mention honors.

Becerra was guided by Lancers head coach Gerry Mora in his two seasons at PCC.
