Men's Cross Country Keeps Up With 4-Year Runners At Biola Meet

Facing mostly 4-year university competition, the Pasadena City College men's cross country team finished in 15th place overall out of 18 scoring teams, placing ahead of the only other community college teams participating in Glendale and Ventura, at the Biola Invitational held Saturday at Craig Regional Park in Fullerton. 

The Lancers were paced in the 8-kilometer race by freshman Asa Barton, who took 107th individually out of 187 runners who placed. Barton ran a team-best time of 28:06.54. Giovanni Guajardo scored in 129th (28:45.57) followed directly by freshman Mohammad Halim in 130th (28:46.19). Rounding out the PCC runners were sophomore Jose Campos in 148th (29:58), Eduardo Cruz in 157th (31:01), and Karvin Li in 183rd (36:51). 

PCC also placed ahead of Marymount California University (17th overall). 

Coach Innocent Ebunike's Lancers will next be in action at the SoCal Preview Meet this Friday, Sept. 13 in Mission Bay, San Diego.
