The Pasadena City College men's cross country team has a new No. 1 runner in Philycius Oey, who placed 62nd in a 136-runner field at the Mt. San Antonio College Invite on Friday. Oey ran a time of 24:54.7 over the 4-mile course.

Oey, a freshman from Temple City High, helped PCC earn ninth place out of 11 scoring teams at the meet. Ronnie Winn was the next fastest Lancer in 71st place (25:13.6), followed by Etienne Deleage in 85th (26:25.1), Roux Alaka'i Adalin in 101st (27:32.6), and Sam Regan in 112th (28:57.4)

Sophomore Alec Fernandez, the team's top runner in the Lancers three most recent meets, has left the team for academic reasons.

Oey became the third different Lancer to earn top individual team honors as Winn was the fastest Lancer at the season-opening Moorpark Inviational.

On Friday, Oct. 29, the Lancers will participate in the South Coast Conference Championships, held this year at Wilson Park in Torrance and hosted by Compton College.
