Former PCC Softball Assistant Mary Geer Has Died

Mary Geer, who was an assistant coach for the Pasadena City College softball team for 21 seasons from 1994-2014, has passed away. Geer coached under five different PCC head coaches, including both current coach Monica Tantlinger and her mentor and PCC Hall of Fame head coach Sandi Iverson. 

Geer helped PCC make 12 trips to the playoffs aiding Iverson. The two were part of the 2001 National Fastpitch Community College Coaching Staff of the Year in charge of the Lancers. 

Geer was a playing alumnae who was on Iverson's 1984 and 1985 teams as a second baseman.

Besides recently teaching classes as an adjunct professor at East Los Angeles College, Geer worked for more than 30 years in the West Covina Unified School District. She received several Teacher of the Year awards for her work.
