Schmidt's Hattie Highlights 1-1 Week For Women's Soccer

The Pasadena City College women's soccer team is 1-1-1 after three matches, falling on Friday at Victor Valley, 1-0. The two teams played at a sweltering 104 degrees as a heat wave continues to blanket the entire SoCal Region. 

VVC scored the game's lone goal in the 73rd minute off a free kick by Samantha Walsh. It was the Rams first goal of the season as they improved to 1-2. 

On Tuesday, Megan Schmidt scored the hat trick and Isabela Guerrero picked up a goal and three assists in the Lancers' 8-0 rout at Norco College. Devin Zamora added a goal and two assists while Mia BedoyanGabby Morales, and Andrea Sanchez each assisted on scores.

Olivia Aguilar and Athena Vournas also scored goals. Schmidt opened the scoring on a set play goal in the ninth minute on a pass by Guerrero. Schmidt's third goal (all three assisted by Guerrero) in the 76th minute capped the scoring.

On Tuesday, PCC returns to action with a non-conference home contest v. Santa Monica College. The game starts at 4 p.m. at Robinson Stadium.
