Pasadena City College's Nickey Hale collected some hardware at the CCCAA State Swim/Dive Championships with her fifth place medal in the 400-yard individual medley on Friday. Hale's time of 4:58.20 is the third fastest in PCC's swim history.
The Lancers freshman beat her South Coast Conference champion time by 1.04 seconds.
Hale placed ninth in the 1,650 freestyle, dropping her best time by nine seconds at 19:23, and she took 13th in the 500 freestyle.
Her 27 scoring points allowed PCC to place 27th out of 39 teams.
A Lancers swimmer has scored a 5th place medal or higher going back to the 2013 season, a streak of eight straight state meets.
PCC head coach Terry Stoddard finished his 22nd season in charge of the Lancers aquatics programs. He has coached six state individual champions and 82 South Coast Conference event champions.
