Kessa Rychlick broke a 3-year drought of Pasadena City College women's athletes not scoring at the Southern California Track and Field Championships. Rychlick took eighth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 15.75 seconds at the SoCal meet held at Riverside City College on May 11.

The sophomore scored a point for her finish, allowing PCC to place tied for 23rd place overall. The last time a PCC women's track athlete scored at SoCal was Julia Sambvani, who was fourth in the 400 hurdles in 2015. She is also the last PCC female to advance to the CCCAA State Meet.

The PCC women's track and field team is coached by Innocent Egbunike.
