Three Event Wins For Women's Track and Field at Pasadena Relays

The Pasadena City College women's track and field team enjoyed its first home meet in more than two years by scoring three event victories in the Pasadena Relays held at Robinson Stadium on Friday.

Competing against the likes of College of the Canyons, Antelope Valley, Long Beach City, Compton, East Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Valley as well as some club competitors, Liz Ghazanchian won the discus throw event with a toss of 109 feet, 3 inches while placing second in the shot put at 32-7. Teammate Hannah Collazo was fourth in both events, 30-7 in shot put and 83-8 in the discus. 

Bay Hollinger won the high jump in a leap of 4-9. The 4x400 relay squad of Ashley Comanescu, Crystal Ludwig, Estrella Camacho-Rodriguez and Joelyne Garcia defeated East LA to capture first in that event in 4:40.08.

Ludwig placed fifth overall in the 100 meters (13.51) and took fourth in the 200 meters (27.85). Comanescu placed eighth in the 100 (won her heat #2) iin 13.79 and sixth in the 200 at 28.45. Garcia was ninth at 29.91.

The 4x100 relay of Garcia, Mia Bedoyan, Comanescu and Ludwig scored second in 53.71. 

Ghazanchian holds the state's 14th leading mark in the discus at 116-7 (performed at the Cerritos Invite) while Hollinger is 16th in the high jump at 4-11. 

The Lancers are directed by head coach Innocent Egbunike.
