The Pasadena City College women's track and field team had two athletes score a top 8 finish during the Lancers sports season-ending event at the CCCAA State Championships on Friday-Saturday. The state meet was hosted by Mt. San Antonio College.

Lily Baer placed eighth in the javelin on Friday with a throw of 107 feet, 2 inches. PCC teammate Joelyne Garcia placed 12th at 93-0.

On Saturday, Bay Hollinger was one of just four athletes to clear 4-9 and 4-11 heights on her first attempts. But her efforts to clear 5-1 were unsuccessful on her three tries at that height. Hollinger, who had gone as high as 5-3 as South Coast Conference champion, settled for a tie for sixth place.

The team's 3.5 points placed the Lancers in 34th out of 40 teams that scored at the championships. Mt. SAC won both the men's and women's state team championships.

PCC scored at the state meet for the first time since 2015. It is the highest place performance by the program since 2013 (ninth).
