    The Pasadena City College football team landed six players on the 2021 SCFA Scholar-Athlete Team and not surprisingly it was a roll call of most of the Lancers top talents from their SoCal Bowl/American Division Mountain League champion squad.

    In perhaps the biggest victory by a Pasadena City College football team in 20 years, the Lancers shocked previous first-place Mt. San Jacinto, 28-26, on Saturday night and in the process won a share of the SCFA American Mountain League title. Grossmont was awarded a forfeit victory against Compton creating a 3-way tie for the crown with MSJC.

    In the first half of the 2021 season, the Pasadena City College football team had been successful thanks in part to keeping turnovers at a minimum (10 in five games) as its offense produced points with efficient drives and quick strikes. On Saturday afternoon, a multitude of mistakes and missed opportunities helped put a stop to the Lancers' 4-game winning streak in a 24-19 loss at Grossmont College.

    Pasadena City College football team safety Osvaldo Raigosa, who made two interceptions in the team's 30-27 comeback win over Citrus, was selected as the SCFA Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Sept. 24-25. He is the second Lancer in the last three weeks to be honored with the region's defensive award.

The Pasadena City College football team moved the chains with ease on 29 first downs while totaling 505 offensive yards in Saturday's SCFA non-league game at Santa Monica College. But it was the Lancers defense that stepped up as well in the second half as PCC pulled away from the Corsairs with 21 unanswered points in a 43-22 victory.

He played as a defensive back on the 2001 Pasadena City College Mission Conference champion squad that featured PCC Hall of Famers and All-Americans in running back Jonathan Smith and quarterback Nathan Chandler.

Now, Robert Tucker hopes to do the same at Pasadena City College in being selected as the institution's 27th head football coach in the program's 96-year history in the sport. Tucker was confirmed as the Director of Football Operations, a full-time position, at the school's Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday night.
