Sixteen PCC Football Players Make '23 SCFA Scholar Athlete Team

The Pasadena City College football team placed 16 sophomores on the SCFA 2023 Scholar Athlete Team.

Leading the group were two 4.0 GPA student-athletes in wide receiver Daniel Schwam and offensive lineman Jaden Pena.

In alphabetical order, here are the others making the squad:

Linebacker Matthew Aguilar (3.04 GPA), offensive linemen Bernardo Brito (3.7) and Guadalupe Cedillo (3.03), 
Running backs Isaaac Glover (3.74) and Armando Guardado (3.1), offensive lineman Jacen Guerra (3.1), 
Defensive tackle Mario Luna (3.4), defensive backs Devon Mayes (3.06) and Nesty Montfleury (3.6), 
Defensive tackle Jose Oliveros (3.15), wide receiver Billy Parra (3.6), defensive tackle Ryan Pastran (3.3), 
Linebacker Michael Prappas (3.5), and tight end Thomas Shue (3.05).

Of the players making at least a 3.0 GPA or higher, five were also All-SCFA for their on-field accomplishments, including Cedillo, Glover, Mayes, Oliveros and Shue.

The players were guided in their PCC careers by Director of Football Operations/Head Coach Robert Tucker while college success plans were helped in part by PCC's Stan Gray Academic Athletic Zone and PCC athletic counselor Matthew Williams.
