Tchengang, Winfrey Named All-SCC Men's Basketball First Team

Sophomores Jonathan Tchengang and Jayden Winfrey were named to the All-South Coast Conference North Division First Team as representatives from the Pasadena City College men's basketball team.

Tchengang, a transfer wing from MiraCosta College who played at Martin Luther King High (Riverside), made the 11-man, squad after leading the Lancers this season in scoring (13.3 points average) and rebounding (8.5 per contest). 

Winfrey, also a MC transfer who came from Redondo Union High, led the conference and was #4 in the state in assists average at 6.3, averaged 6.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals. 

Sophomore center Nigel Wilson, who also transferred from MiraCosta and played his prep ball at Catalina Foothills (Arizona), was named All-SCC honorable mention after averaging 10.3 points. 6.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. 

The trio helped a #12 seed PCC to an amazing 22-9 season in which the Lancers reached the SoCal Regional Finals, only to lose to #4 San Bernardino Valley, 63-58, in a hard-fought playoff contest on Saturday. 

Flowers Reaches 500 Points

Reserve sophomore guard Jordan Flowers, a PCC letterman who made the All-SCC First Team as a freshman, finished his 2-year run as a Lancer by entering the program's prestigious 500-point club (501 career points). 

Flowers played his prep ball at Higley (Arizona) and is originally from Detroit, Mi. He is the 73rd member to reach the all-time scoring list.

Flowers, Tchengang, Winfrey, Wilson, regular rotation transfer guard Rande Harper (Farmville Central, North Carolina), transfer guard Caleb Gerber (attended Golden West College as a freshman, played at Hollywood HS), and 2-year Lancers guard Brandon Torimaru all finished thei their community college careers under PCC first-year, head coach Ryan Frazer.
