The 4x400 relay squad of Matthew Karapetyan, Winsor Harmon, Chase Eldridge, and Youssef Cherqaoui raced to a 16th place finish in the Pasadena City College men's track and field team's best time of the season at the Southern California Championships held May 12 at San Diego Mesa College.

The Lancers did not team score at the event, but the mark by the PCC relay unit was good enough for 30th in the state this season.

Matthew Le had the highest finish of any Lancer at the SoCals (Prelims were held May 5 also at Mesa) with 11th in the high jump at 5-10.75. His 6-0.75 at the Pasadena Invite was his season-best and it allowed him to reach the State Top 25.

Frank Macias placed 15th in the javelin at 143-6, just short of his personal best of 144-1.

Pasadena was unable to qualify an athlete for the 3C2A State Championship Meet, officially ending the '23 season at SoCals.

PCC men's and women's track and field is directed by head coach Innocent Egbunike.
