Bill "Rocky" Moore joined the PCC women's basketball assistant coaching staff for the 2022-23 season after a long layoff from coaching Lancers student-athletes.

Moore was the head coach of the PCC men's basketball team from 1996-97 through the 2002-2003 seasons. He is a full-time instructor in the Kinesiology, Health & Athletics Division.

He directed the Lancers to the only South Coast Conference title on the men's side in the college's tenure in the SCC (joined in 1987) in the 1999-2000 season. That squad led the state in team defense for least points allowed per game at a 61.6 average. 

Moore was inducted into the Basketball Museum of Illinois Hall of Fame in 2020 for his high school playing accomplishments at Waterloo High School.  HOF Bio

At John Muir High from 1993-1996, Moore guided future NBA player Jacque Vaughn, now the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. Moore directed four Pacific League title teams and two CIF champions in 1993 and 1996. He also previously coached another future NBA player/head coach in Steve Kerr while an assistant coach at Palisades High (1981-82).

Moore was a volunteer assistant at USC under Stan Morrison. 

Moore played college basketball for two seasons at Northeast Missouri State after a 2-year stint at Mineral Area College in Missouri. He earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology at NMS (now Truman State University) and later a master's degree at Louisiana Tech.
