The Pasadena City College women's soccer team saw a much-improved 2017 season come to a close Friday in a 4-0 loss at state No. 4-rated and South Coast Conference North Division champion Rio Hondo College.

PCC finished the year at 10-7-3, the most victories in a season for head coach Reggie Rivas in his five years directing the program. PCC also placed in a tie for third place in the SCC North, the highest conference finish for a Pasadena team since 2012. The Lancers were especially strong in road games at 7-3.

PCC goalie Lilly Urumieh made a season-high 16 saves against Rio Hondo (14-3-2), a team that went a perfect 8-0 in conference play.

Chloe Twitchell finished as the team's leading scorer with six goals and two assists (14 points) and Emily Matthiesen was the best playmaker (nine assists and one goal). Mattheisen is the 16th player in the program's history to reach at least double digits in assists in a career (10).

The Lancers will learn next week who makes the All-SCC North Division team.
