For the first time since 2020, the Pasadena City College women's swim team won a dual meet as the Lancers downed Chaffey, 94-80, in the South Coast Conference opener for both teams at PCC's home away from home--Polytechnic School in Pasadena.

The Lancers were paced by Nickey Hale, who won her three events in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:44.59), the 100 backstroke (1:07.64), and the 200 butterfly (2:30.70). Arabella Carboni also captured three first places in winning the 50 freestyle (27.15), the 100 free (59.20), and 200 individual medley (2:30.08).

Emily Padilla added victories in the 200 free (2:21.69) and 500 free (6:40.82).

"It was exciting to finally record a conference team win" said PCC head coach Terry Stoddard, in his 23rd season in charge of the Lancers. "Our three top swimmers did the job today. Emily's wins were huge for us."

PCC next hits the pool in a SCC double dual v. El Camino and host Long Beach City on Friday, Mar. 17.
