Men's Swim Places 4th At ELAC/PCC Invitational

Michael Petersen won the 100-yard breaststroke event as the Pasadena City College men's swim team earned fourth place at the annual ELAC/PCC Invitational held April 5-6. The invite was once again hosted at East Los Angeles College's Swim Stadium.

Diablo Valley won both the men's and women's team titles while the Lancers men scored 286 points for fourth and the PCC women took ninth place at 102 points.

In a great battle, Petersen held off DVC's Tate Stein at the wall to win the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:01.83, just .03 ahead of Stein. Petersen also placed fourth in the 100 freestyle (49.08), fifth in the 200 individual medley (2:08.12), sixth in the 100 backstroke (58.47) and ninth in the 50 freestyle (22.94). 

Hazem Abdelaty scored third in the 1,650 freestyle at 19:19.95, seventh in the 500 freestyle (5:33.48) and was eighth in the 200 butterfly (2:34.05). Ethan Toro took sixth in the 1,650 (20:54.10).

On the women's side, Emily Padilla placed third in the 200 butterfly (2:34.92),  fourth in the 1,650 (20:19.06), seventh in both the 500 freestyle (5:48.93) and 200 freestyle (2:14.87), and ninth in the 100 butterfly (1:10.97).

The Lancers teams will take part in the South Coast Conference Championships on April 18-20 at Mt. San Antonio College.
