    The Pasadena City College women's water polo team had its chances late but lost the fifth place final of the South Coast Conference Championship Tournament against Rio Hondo, 9-8, Saturday at the Aquatic Center. The Lancers finished the year at 7-19 overall and were 3-7 in conference games.

    Nine different Lancers scored goals and all 11 players figured in the scoring as the Pasadena City College women's water polo team romped over Los Angeles Trade Tech, 19-1, on Wednesday. The South Coast Conference victory upped PCC's record to 2-4 and 4-10 overall.

    With the positional move of Kaitlin Mason to the field after starting the season solely as a reserve goalie, the Pasadena City College women's water polo team has seen an improvement on offense. Mason scored goals in each of her last four games and picked up a hat trick for the second straight contest as the Lancers defeated host East Los Angeles, 8-3, in a South Coast Conference game on Monday.

    With one of the better goalies in the South Coast Conference in sophomore Clarque De Young, The Pasadena City College women's water polo team has a strong base on defense. But it's the Lancers inability to generate offense that has contributed toward an 0-3 start to conference play. On Wednesday, PCC settled for an 8-3 loss against visiting Mt. San Antonio, one of the three teams that are at the top of the dual standings.

    Sophomore goalie Clarque De Young did everything she could to keep the Pasadena City College women's water polo team close to visiting Cerritos in their South Coast Conference game on Wednesday. Her 17 saves, several on acrobatic stops on point-blank attempts, were for not in a 9-4 loss to the Falcons at the PCC Aquatic Center.
