Nine different Lancers scored goals and all 11 players figured in the scoring as the Pasadena City College women's water polo team romped over Los Angeles Trade Tech, 19-1, on Wednesday. The South Coast Conference victory upped PCC's record to 2-4 and 4-10 overall

Although some of the conference teams have played a few more games, PCC has the current lowest goals allowed total in the 9-team SCC and a 7.64 goals against average has kept the Lancers close in many contests. 

Against the winless Beavers (0-6, 0-6), Erica Sanchez and Zuri Pulido each scored four goals while Ellie White netted three shots. Both Jasmine Abriel and Irma Sarac added two goals and three assists. Jasmine Campirano scored her first collegiate goal (and two assists). Christy Lam (and three assists), Evangelica Child and Kaitlin Mason each had single goals. 

Goalie Clarque De Young made 11 saves with one assist and a team-high six steals. Cassandra Silva picked up an assist. Sanchez contributed two helpers.

The Lancers led 8-0 after one quarter and 13-1 by halftime. 

On October 5 at first-place Long Beach City College, the Lancers gave up a season-worst in goals and suffered a 14-2 defeat. Sarac and Pulido scored PCC's goals and De Young made 14 saves.

Pulido currently leads the squad in scoring with 21 goals and Sarac (12 goals) paces the Lancers in assists (15) and steals (42). De Young has been busy, making an average of 10 saves per game and the sophomore is second on the team in steals with 32.

This Friday-Saturday, Oct. 14-15, Pasadena plays four games at the Citrus Tournament. Coach Terry Stoddard's Lancers open with a 12:30 p.m. match on Friday against San Diego Mesa.
