In 1966 at linebacker, Curtis Seagrove set three single-season PCC football school records for most tackles (144), most solo tackles (85), and most quarterback sacks (14). Named the Western State Conference Defensive MVP and JC All-American First Team, he helped the Lancers win the Western State Conference championship and advance to the Junior Rose Bowl before losing the national title to Henderson, Texas. The team finished 8-1-1 that magical season. Seagrove would earn a playing scholarship to the University of Hawaii.
