A true coaching legend, Jerry Todd started his association with the campus first as PHS gymnastics coach as he won four CIF team titles from 1954-1959. In 1960, he became PCC's gymnastics coach and he proceeded to win 16 Western State Conference team crowns and 19 national JC team championships. Todd's teams won nine consecutive AAU team titles. His teams performed an amazing winning streak that lasted 126 consecutive dual meet wins over competition that regularly included NCAA foes. In his long career, Todd coached 112 national champion athletes. Four of his gymnasts are in the PCC Sports Hall of Fame, including 1972 U.S. Olympian George Greenfield. Todd was the NCAA rings champion in 1949 for USC. He was inducted into the U.S. Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1978.
