In her one season at PCC, Tiana Sanders became the first State Player of the Year and first South Coast Conference MVP in Lancers women's basketball history. Her single-season PCC scoring record of 744 points (22.5 per contest) led PCC to a phenomenal 31-2 record. Her performance marked the beginning of PCC's run as a state women's basketball power under head coach Joe Peron. Sanders earned a scholarship to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. She was inducted into the CCC Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Sanders started a Tiana #24 Scholarship to be given annually to a Lancers women's basktball player who exhibits strong leadership and sportsmanship skills as well as being a model student-athlete on the court and in the classroom.
