Rudy Aguilar has served Pasadena City College for the past 21 years as a head athletic trainer. Between Aguilar and fellow trainer Patty Bellali, the pair is in charge of 16 intercollegiate sports. Their duties include evaluations of injuries, prevention of injuries, rehabilitation programs and administration of daily activities in the sports medicine department.

Aguilar earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology emphasis in athletic training from California State University of Long Beach in 1994. He was certified by the NATABOC (National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification) as an ATC (athletic trainer certified) and NSCABOC (National Strength and Conditioning Association Board of Certification) as a CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) both in 1996. In the summer of 1996 he graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a master's in education. Aguilar currently is the athletic trainer rep for the South Coast Conference.

He is the head strength and conditioning coach for various sports. He designs and implements strength and conditioning programs for off-season sports year around and supervises teams during in-season.

For the last 25 years, Aguilar kept himself in shape as an avid weight lifter. He has worked in the fitness field since 2008. He served as a strength coach consulting at South Pasadena High School for two years as well as the head athletic trainer there for 14 sports. Aguilar did a two-year rotation at La Canada High School as the head athletic trainer for 14 sports. He served as strength and conditioning coach for the LCHS football team for two seasons.
