The Pasadena City College baseball team won its second straight and took the 3-game series v. Rio Hondo with a 7-1 road victory on Friday.

An outstanding pitching performance was turned in by the duo of starter/winner Joe Bacon (seven innings, four hits, one run, two walks, two strikedouts) and Ben Griffith (two innings, one hit, four Ks) who combined on a 5-hitter. Bacon is 4-1 on the season and tied with two Cerritos hurlers as the South Coast Conference wins leader.

The Lancers moved back over the .500 mark at 9-8 overall and are 2-4 in the SCC. They start a 3-game, conference series v. LA Harbor this week, beginning with a 2 p.m. game on Tuesday, Mar. 5 at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Field.

In Friday's triumph, first baseman Adrian Roman kept his season-long hitting streak going now at 17 games. He is the SCC batting leader with a .451 average. His 32 hits lead the conference as well and are third in the state.

Catcher Evan Nahra slugged two doubles, including a RBI in a 4-run, Lancers fourth inning. Centerfielder Thomas Villanueva batted 2-for-4 with two RBI and eight of the nine starters collected at least one hit, including a double by Thursday's hero--rightfielder Evan Coad.

Regular starting pitcher Jameson Ferraro was utilized at designated hitter and was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored a run. Leftfielder Bryan Richman was 1-for-3 with a RBI and his team-leading sixth stolen base. Richman is tied for third in the state in runs scored with 28.
