After playing for Pasadena City College head coach Robert Tucker at both Los Angeles Valley College and UC Davis, Eric Flowers continues his relationship with Tucker in his fourth year on the PCC assistant coaching staff in 2024. Flowers works specifically with the inside linebackers and is co-defensive coordinator.

In 2021, Flowers worked with both State Region IV and SCFA Defensive Player of the Year in All-American linebacker Lucio Rodriguez. Another standout he coached was All-State selection Jordan Monroe, who was the SoCal Bowl Player of the Game that year.

As a linebacker from 2017-2019, Flowers performed three seasons at UC Davis and made 82 tackles as a senior, tied for the second-highest tackle total in school history. As a freshman at LAVC in 2016, the All-SCFA Second Team inside linebacker helped Tucker's squad to the American Division championship with a perfect 11-0 record. 

Flowers played at Birmingham High (Encino) as a 3-time, All-Western Valley League selection including the league defensive MVP as a senior. He was named All-Los Angeles City Section First Team and helped Birmingham to three consecutive league titles.
